Steeped in the “attentive ear and courageous heart” charism of Saint Katharina Kasper, we Poor Handmaids continue the mission of Jesus.

• stand with the poor and powerless in the search for justice
• use our resources and talents to respond to the emerging needs in Church and society.

Where do we find the strength for this threefold mission?

We live an apostolic vowed life in community. This shapes all facets of our lives as we listen prayerfully, live simply and serve joyfully. Through faith sharing and individual and communal discernment, we support one another in what it means to be women religious and disciples in today’s world.

This is no easy task, yet we are not in this pursuit alone. We prayerfully listen and act in collaboration with our Associates and many co-workers and colleagues.
