Intergenerational Activities
Maria Center resident Dorothy Weber visits with Ancilla College students.

Maria Center residents and Ancilla College students enrolled in the Aging and Sociology class instructed by Brad Laird enjoyed a potluck lunch together this past April. The room was buzzing with conversation as students with a variety of majors inquired about the seniors’ opinions on current events, their interests and backgrounds that students later used to write papers for their class. Both residents and students found how their lives and interests paralleled each other.

An anticipated outcome of intergenerational programs is the creation of new and positive relationships. Maria Center recognizes the benefits of providing intergenerational activities that provide opportunities for different generations to come together and share experiences, knowledge and skills that are mutually beneficial and foster positive relationships.

Look forward to regular updates on Maria Center activities and information.
